Information we collect

VisaCompass is a static website. We do not ask you to register, and we do not store personal information on our servers. The Schengen calculator runs entirely in your browser — trip dates you enter are never transmitted to us.

Cookies and advertising

We use third-party advertising (Google AdSense) to keep the site free. These vendors may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising via Google Ads Settings.

Ratings data

The current rating widget stores your vote only in your browser (localStorage) and does not upload it. Once the community backend launches, anonymous ratings aggregate into rankings without being tied to personal identity.

AI chat data

When you use the AI assistant, your question is sent to our server and forwarded to an AI model to generate a response. Conversation content is not stored long-term on the server — it is only used during the request to generate a reply. The page path you are on is also sent to provide context-relevant answers. Before the service goes live, questions are only stored in your browser localStorage (key: vc-ai-queued) and not sent to any server.

Data stored locally

The following data is stored in your browser localStorage and is not automatically uploaded:

vc-plan:* — trip plan task progress
vc-depart-date — departure date
vc-rate-* — guide rating records
vc-ai-queued — queued AI questions
