About
About VisaCompass
VisaCompass exists because visa rules are scattered across dozens of government websites, written in legal language, and easy to get wrong. We turn the essentials into a direct answer: do you need a visa, how long can you stay, and what should you prepare?
How we source data
Our visa rule dataset is built from official government and embassy sources, cross-checked against international travel documentation standards. Every rule page carries a last-reviewed date, and we re-verify when policies change. Social content (Xiaohongshu, Mafengwo, Reddit) is curated by editors with attribution and original links, then condensed into structured guides after AI cross-verification — no scraping, no rewriting.
How AI reliability shows up
Each guide section that has been AI cross-verified against an official source shows an "AI-verified" badge plus the verification basis. The trust score blends an editor baseline, source authority and AI verification coverage. Once the community backend launches, real traveller ratings aggregate into the rankings.
How we stay independent
The site is free to use and funded by display advertising and traffic revenue. We do not sell user data, and we do not accept payment from governments to improve an entry rule.
