Canada TRV (IMM 5257) — official filling guide
IMM 5257 is a dynamic XFA form with official validation and barcode generation — no browser tool can fill it validly. Here is the shortest correct path.
1. Download the official form
Search "IMM 5257" on canada.ca and download the PDF from the official page only — avoid third-party re-uploads.

IMM 5257 is a dynamic XFA form: Chrome/Edge built-in viewers, Preview and WPS cannot fill it. Install the free Adobe Acrobat Reader and open the form with it.
3. Complete the form
Fill personal details, nationality, contact, purpose of visit, itinerary, funds and background questions. Names must match your passport exactly. Click "Validate" at the bottom — it checks required fields and generates a barcode page.
4. Upload to your IRCC account
Create an application in the IRCC Secure Account / Online Portal, upload the validated IMM 5257 together with passport, photo, proof of funds and itinerary, then pay CAD 100 (plus CAD 85 biometrics fee if applicable).

After payment you receive a Biometrics Instruction Letter; give fingerprints and photo at a Visa Application Centre within 30 days, then wait for processing and passport submission instructions.
